Summer School Programs
Getting Ready for Bay Port Swim Team
Get into shape before the swim season starts. Join us for laps and workouts preseason.
Prerequisites: Must be able to swim 50 yards freestyle and backstroke.
Introduction to Diving
This course offers basic steps in learning to safely dive off a spring board. Students will start with simple head first entries from the side of the pool and progress to learn approaches and more complex dives from a one meter board.
Prerequisites include being comfortable in 12 feet of water, swim 15 yards unassisted and tread water for 60 seconds.
Want to get a head start training to be a professional lifeguard? Join us for Junior Lifeguard and learn many of the safety tips and rescues taught in the American Red Cross lifeguard training course. Prerequisites include being able to swim 50 yards, front crawl breathing to the side, tread water for 2 minutes using arms or legs and submerge and swim 10 feet underwater.
Junior Swim Instructor
This course is intended to introduce the concepts of being an instructor for swimming lessons. Students will learn some of the basics of the American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor course and help teach swim classes with certified instructors.
Prerequisites include being comfortable in deep water and being able to swim front crawl, back-stroke and elementary backstroke.
Off to Lineville Swimming
This course is offered to all students of ANY swimming skill level. This course is focused on improving swimming skills and comfort in the water, while being with students of the same age range. Skills taught range from getting the face wet to refining the six different strokes. Also included are ways to keep safe near the pool. Students will be divided up into smaller groups based on comfort level, skill level and knowledge of the strokes.
Interested in joining a swim team or already on one? See what swim team is like. Join us for two weeks of practice. We will build endurance and speed, work on drills, turns and starts. On our last day, challenge yourself and compete in our friendly swim meet. Prerequisites: include being able to swim 25 yards, front and back crawl or swim at level 4 ability.
Snorkel and Scuba Exploration
Come join us for two weeks of underwater exploration. We will learn the basics of snorkeling and scuba. You will also get to experience the feeling of breathing underwater wit an adventure in Discover Scuba led by certified dive masters from Green Bay Scuba.
Prerequisites include demonstrate high levels of maturity, be comfortable in deep water and be able to swim 50 yards unassisted. Course materials including a release form will be handed out on the first day. Parents are to attend for the first 15 minutes of this first day to complete these and discuss course expectations.
***An additional $25.00 fee payable to the Green Bay Scuba will be required on the first day of course to cover equipment rental.
